  The new book for children.

  my wife went to the convention yesterday and brought back the new book for children 'learn from the great teacher'.. it's certainly much better than the old pink book, larger and more colourful, even if the pictures have a 1950's feel to them.

  the introduction mentions that there are questions throughout the book that you should ask children to find out what is on their mind... saying ' true, the child may come out with with answers that are not correct.

  but the printed material that follows each question is designed to help the child to develop wholesome patterns of thinking'.... 'wholesome patterns of thinking' eh?

  When I went to meetings in the 70's, we were taught (drilled into our heads) to answer at doors "WE WILL FIGHT FOR JEHOVAH''

  This being in response to statements made to us that JW's refuse to fight in wars. (This was during the Vietnam conflict)

  I didn't mean to imply they would fight in armeggedon. Sorry for the mix up

  A question for those churchgoing ones...forgiveness

  this is in reference to the comments that kgb made on the thread i started yesterday about the molester who was crushed underneath a car.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/54218/1.ashx.

  he talked of forgiveness of murderers, molesters, rapists, etc.

  i know that many churchgoes feel the same way about this.. my question is, if god can forgive murderers, rapists, etc., then what about those who don't believe in god, who don't have 'faith'?

  I am not offended by you teeny.

  I was only commenting that ''churchgoers'' were ask to opine. And somehow the thread turned into another "us v. them''.

  But I got reading another thread, I think from Stinky, asking athiest, agnostics to opine, and guess what? Same thing. Bunch of church going types hijacked the thread.

  I read alot of the posts, but try not to feel oblidged to jump in on one just to put in my two cents. I mean, I try to at least understand the question first, and not opine something irrelevant to the topic.

  I would like to say in KGB's defense, the title of this thread is, A QUESTION FOR THOSE CHURCHGOING ONES....

  I guess what is confusing is the answers from athiest and so forth.

  It seems churchgoers were ask specifically, then attacked for their answers.....

  Update on my Dad's stroke

  dad is now at a rehabilitation center, getting physical therapy.

  he is walking fine now, and his voice is normal too.

  he is still having some swallowing difficulties, but i would say he is 95% better.
